INTRODUCTION:
Before getting into the article, I would like to discuss a little about Career growth and guidance. Many of the students and working professionals always strive to have career growth in every step of their lives. Career growth is necessary for financial increment/stability, and also it would be an open gate for many other opportunities in our lives. This career growth may vary from person to person. But for Students or White-collared professionals, that can happen only by cracking exams or interviews. While there are many exams and interviews to climb up the ladder, one of the most Prestigious ways is to crack India’s one of the most challenging entrance “Common Admission Test” popularly known as CAT.
In this article, I would give you a complete analysis of CAT Entrance. If you want to know about another prestigious entrance GATE, click here. Let’s get started.CAT is a management entrance such as XAT, IIFT, SNAP but CAT is considered the toughest, and it is a gateway to IIM’s and other top B-schools to study management courses in India. CAT score is accepted by 90% of B-schools, which is why it is more popular. This is conducted every year by the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) on a rotational basis.
A two-year post-graduate degree in management(PGDM) from one of the top IIMs assures you for a bright career in the corporate sector. This degree is very much different from a standard MBA degree. Apart from financial remunerations, candidates get to learn management principles and develop leadership qualities while working in top multinational companies. CAT remains one of the most sought-after competitive examinations and attracts graduates from all streams. Many working professionals also appear for CAT to step up the corporate ladder. The score is accepted by the IIMs and by other 100+ top-notch B- Schools across the country. The IIMs offer approximately 4,000 seats.
So to crack this entrance, some of the vital information like (syllabus, eligibility, exam pattern, selection process, best B-schools) are required. I want to collaborate with all those at a single table.

As you have got all the details about the exam, if you are serious about cracking it, then you should start preparing TODAY. Yes, there are many of them who are capable enough to start their preparation before three months and crack it; that won’t be everyone’s cup of tea. As for my suggestion, you should at least have the time of 10-12 months for preparation. In that time, mainly you have to give three months for your Mock tests.
CAT is a type of exam where your patience is tested. It is also not a type of exam where you can directly read a question and get an answer by a formula. Even for a section like QA, you should read the questions carefully and then solve them by your IQ and not by formulae. You should thoroughly learn every topic from its scratch but not formulas or techniques.
As a CAT aspirant, I can confidently say that all three sections have equal importance in gaining a good percentile. Also, the deciding factor of the exam is the DI&LR part, where most of the bright students fail to get answers. For the VA&RC section, the main agenda should be reading. You must have a habit of reading a lot and the ability to deduce the correct meaning. If you don’t have a habit of reading, inculcate it. Also, you can check this link where you can find articles on various types which are equivalent to CAT level. For the QA part, you should start your preparation from basics, many of them ignore this section as they think it is high school maths, but it is not. This is completely different, and you need to brush your skills from the ashes. Coming to DI&LR, the most important factor of your score, you should solve all types of questions to ace them in your final exam. Remember, CAT preparation is a marathon, not a sprint. You must have a lot of patience and determination to crack it.
Finally, here you go with the list of top B-schools in India. The below table is divided into tier-1, tier-2, tier-3 colleges so that you can have a clear knowledge about them.
